Auto Body Tech

Reports To: General Manager/Owner
Job Summary:
The Auto Body Tech position requires restoring vehicles to pre-collision condition and restoration in a timely manner and with quality repair.
Job Responsibilities:
The Auto Body Tech is responsible for all R&I’s (Remove and installs) not damaging any parts while doing it, labeling all removed parts to its dedicated bins. All tasks must be performed using safety equipment such as gloves, safety glasses, and face masks provided by the company.
- Preparing for repairs by inspecting damages and assign dedicated bin
- Requirements are to use tools such as dent puller, car-o-liner software and measuring system
- Set up vehicle for frame pull
- Ability to use welding tools or willingness to learn
- Ability to cut and splice metal per manufacturer recommendation using software such as All Data.
- DA sanding tools, bondo, grinding tools
- Be able to use dedicated spray guns for primer
- Being able to lift large-weighted objects
- Perform vehicles post repair quality checks by following QC instructions
- Be able to provide training to other employes
- Perform equipment preventive maintenance
- Multitasking between jobs ( ask owner for explanation)
- The goal is to work independently with assistance of a proper tools
Additional Responsibilities:
In addition to the normal duties and responsibilities, auto body tech will perform other duties that will arise during employment at the company, for example electrical diagnostic, suspension replacement, post repair car wash.
Experience And Education Requirements:
The position for Auto Body Tech requires a minimum of high school diploma or equivalent combination of education and a two years of experience in the auto body field. Willingness to learn new techniques, products and self education.
Special Skills:
The position of auto body technician requires knowledge in welding, dent pulling, frame measurement, sectioning rear body panels and welding per manufacturing specifications.
